The thesis was entitled The Violation Maxim Manner in Novel “Animal Farm” by George Orwell. Animal Farm is an Allegorical novel by George Orwell and tell and illustrate the progression of an animal revolution againts human oppresion.The purpose of the research was to find out the violation maxim of manner that violates by all the character in the novel “Animal Farm” by Gerorge Orwell. Research approach in this thesis is qualitative research approach and just focus on violation maxim of manner. The researcher used novel as method of data collection by using SQ3R method. The method of data analysis is Discourse analysis that divided into three steps are data reduction, data display, and conclusion or verification. Based on the data analysis, the researcher found four character who violates maxim of manner those are, Snowball is violates two maxim of manner: (33%), Napoleon is violates one maxim manner: (17%), Mollie is violates two maxim of manner (17%), Squealer is violates two maxim of manner: (33%). The reason why tha characters violates maxim of manner because their dialogue often give information too much, avoid ambiguity, avoid obscurity expression, thir body language and use slang in front of people who do not understand it.
