Abstract
This research aimed to examine the effect of peer editing in improving students’ writing skill of narrative text at the tenth grade of SMA N 1 Kembang. A true experimental study was used in this research.The population of this research were the tenth grade students of SMA N 1 Kembang consisted of 306 students. The sample was 69 students which were taken by using simple random sampling technique. The data was collected by giving writing test. The calculation was done by using SPSS version 20. Based on the data analysi, the result of this research showed that Ha (alternative hypothesis) was accepted and H0 (null hypothesis) was rejected. It could be seen from the mean score in pre test and pos test. The mean score of pre test in experimental class was 63,75 while control class got 64,15. Meanwhile, the mean score of post test in experimental class was 86,08 while control class got 80,78. Then, The result of independent sample t-test in experimental class in post test showed that the value of ttest > ttable (5,196 > 2,000). So, the conclusion was peer editing could improve the students’ wriiting skill of narrative text at the tent garde of SMA N 1 Kembang in the academic year 2020/2021.
