Abstract

The aim of this research was to know whether the use of Round Robin Technique through Realia can improve the students’ writing skills in Descriptive Text of the tenth grade students at SMA N 1 KEMBANG.This research was Quasi Experimental Design exactly two groups for Experimental and Control groups. The population of this research were the tenth grade students of SMA N 1 KEMBANG which consisted of 288 students. The sample of the research was X MIPA 1 as Experimental Group and X MIPA 2 as Control Group,that every group consisted of 15 students. The sample was taken by using Purposive random sampling technique. There were two variables in this research, they were Round Robin Technique through Realia as the independent variable and students’ writing skills in Descriptive Text as the dependent variable. The instrument of this research was writing test. In writing test, the result of the data indicated that there was a significant difference, The mean score in control class for pre test was 53,13 and 68,47 in post-test. The standar deviation was 11,307 for pretest, 7,130 for posttest in Control class.The mean score in experimental class for pret test was 59,40 and 81,27 in post-test.The standar deviation for pretest and posttest in Experimental class was 12,988 and 7,130. The total mean score of post-test was higher than the total mean score in pre-test (81.27˂ 68,47). From the Independent sample t-test, the result showed that the calculation of post-test score in the experimental class and control class, the Sig. (2-tailed) was 0,000 was lower than the level of significance 0,05 (0,000 ˂ 0,05).Based on the findings and the discussion of the research, the researcher got a conclusion that the use of ofRound Robin Technique Through Realia was effective to Improve Students’ Writing Skills in Descriptive Tex at the tenth grade students of SMA N 1 KEMBANG in the Academic Year of 2020/2021.
