This study is pragmatic studies. It is aimed at investigating the violation of maxim quantity, maxim quality, maxim relation and maxim manner were used by characters that participated in SpongeBob Squarepant Idiot Box episode 08. In general conversation frequently happen cooperative principle. In conversation people tend do the violation of cooperative principle. Violation in conversation it is not only found in daily life, but also found in the movie. The violation of maxims occur when the maxims are on purpose tricked, thus the speaker mislead the listener. This study is concerned with an analysis of Cooperative Principles by Grice which are formed in a conversation. The data are obtained from the internet. The data is script of SpongeBob Squarepant Idiot Box episode 08. This research was conducted by using qualitative research. Based on the research that was conducted, the writer found that there were four types of violation of maxims, and the total number were 16 violation of maxim. The maxim of quantity has 6 utterances (37,5%). It becomes the dominant maxim in SpongeBob Squarepant Idiot Box episode 08. Then, violation of quality and relation has 3 utterances (18,75%) in each of them. It has the same amount of violation that the writer found as well. Maxim of manner has 4 utterances (25%). Violated maxim of quantity becomes the dominant because the characters of SpongeBob and Patrick are mostly repeating certain words and talk too much.
