Abstract

Students’ Perception of students in learning is very important in the world of learning as a student's preference before developing teaching materials and lessons. Media in learning has an effect on students' understanding and interest in learning. This media-based research by watching learning videos aims to describe students' perceptions about the use of videos in English lessons, especially in listening.
The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The method of collecting data is by means of questionnaires and interviews. The questionnaire consists of 8 statements and the interview consists of 5 questions. From the questionnaires distributed, the researcher took 10 students to be interviewed. Then the writer analyzed the data in this study using three steps that are data reduction, data presentation, and verification or conclusion.
The results of this study indicated that; students' perception of the use of video in learning English, especially listening is a good and has positive perception. The advantages of using this media were; videos help students understand the lessons that are conveyed easily, it also helped them to know some difficult vocabulary is that are not yet known, besides the video also gave them an interest in learning English
