Abstract
This thesis is entitled Comparative Study of Student Speaking Achievement between Regular and Immersion Class at Ninth Grade of MTs N 1 Jepara. There are some students who can not learn listening skill because they are not practicing their listening skill regularly, they do not have a flexible media to learn, and do not familiar with the vocabulary. In fact, speaking skill has a huge impact when students who are not a native speaker learning English Language. The aims of this study are to find out the comparative students speaking achievement between regular and immersion class at ninth grade of MTSN 1 Jepara. The researcher used ex post facto design with speaking test. The researcher used technique probably sampling and involved two clasess which is regular class consist of 20 students from regular class and 10 students from immersion class. There is significant difference at students’ achievement from speaking test. The result of t-test in this study is the t observe is 3, 201, the sig. (2-tailed) is 0,003. The t table is 1,697 (t observe 3,201> t table 1,697). it shows that t-observe is higher than t-table at the significance level 5% so the Null Hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. It can be concluded that there is significant difference on students’ achievement between the regular class and immersion class at MTs N 1 Jepara.
