Abstract
The title of this research is the Analysis on Content Validity of English Summative Test at the First Graders of MTs. Salafiyah Bandungharjo Donorojo Jepara in the Academic Year 2016/2017. The study aims to describe the indicators of syllabus which are represented with the English summative test and to know the content validity of the test used in the English summative test at the first graders at even semester. The number of test is 50 items consists of 45 items of multiple choice and 5 items of essays. This study used descriptive qualitative research in which the researcher collected the data by interview and documentation. Interview was done with the chief of MGMP (Musyawaroh Guru Mata Pelajaran) English subject and documentation is the data of English summative paper, answer key, students score, and English syllabus by asking to the school. Based on the analysis that has been done, the researcher found that there are 9 items of indicators are represented and 14 items are not represented with the English summative test at the first graders. Moreover, there are 40 items that measure the suggested indicator in the syllabus and there are 10 items which unconformity with the indicator of English syllabus. It means that the conformity items cover 80 % from indicators and the unconformity test items is 20 % from indicators. Thus, the percentage fell into level 76-100 % which means the test item has good content validity.
