Abstract

This thesis is entitled “Improving Students’ Reading Comprehension Through Word Walls Media Combined with Group Investigation Method (A Collaborative Classroom Action Research at Tenth Grade Students of SMK Saddamiyah Guyangan Jepara)”. Tenth grade students of Tata Busana have some problems were low motivation and lack of vocabulary so they can not comprehend a text well. The purpose of this research was to solve the students’ problem and improve their reading comprehension. This research was held on February till March 2020 in SMK Saddamiyah Guyangan Jepara. This research was Collaborative classroom action research. There were two cycles in this research. There were two tests in every cycle after implementing word walls media combined with group investigation method. The score result of test in cycle one was 71.57 while in cycle two was 81.57. The findings showed that there was improvement score from cycle one and cycle two. It means that the use of word walls combined with group investigation could improve the students’ reading comprehension.
