Abstract

This final project is mainly concerned with the use of kids songs in teaching speaking by the fifth grade students of MI Tamrinussibyan II Tengguli Bangsri Jepara. This research is aimed at knowing, how to teach speaking using kids songs and the factors that influence the teacher implementation using kids songs in teaching speaking of MI Tamrinussibyan II. Using kids songs in teaching speaking is easy to practically. The teacher just need to play the song, ask the students to sing the song and checking understanding by giving a test. The implementation of teaching here is also to know the effective using kids songs as media in teaching process. The design of this study was a descriptive research. The process was data reduction, data display, and data conclusion. It was conducted in three meeting that covered observation, questionnaire, and test. Then I started this study from August 10, 2017 to August 24, 2017. The result of this study showed that the factors that influence the teacher using kids songs in teaching speaking because the teacher teach in elementary school. The student was enthusiastic in receiving the material. Using kids song in teaching speaking can motivate the students to learn English especially in practice speaking. In line with the result, I propose that using kids songs in teaching speaking is one of effective media to improve students’ speaking skill. In addition, I also suggest for teacher and researcher later to develop this study about the use kids songs media to be elaborated by another modern method. Hopefully, this study will encourage teachers to use the kids songs media in teaching learning activities especially in speaking skill.
