Abstract
This thesis is entitled The Effectiveness of Nursery Rhymes as Media in Teaching Listening “ An Experimental Research at fourth Grade Students of MI Mamba’ul Ulum Mantingan in The Academic Year 2018/2019”. This study directs to find the effectiveness of using Nursery Rhymes as media in teacing listening in the classroom activities.
The researcher used pre-experimental research - quantitative method during the research since the aim of this study is to find out the effectiveness of using Nursery Rhymes as media in teaching listening. Based on the analysis that has been don, the researcher found there was significance differences between pre-test and post-test with significance number 4,3. It was found by used manual t-test formula that included mean differences and also standard eror mean differences.
Furthermore, the improvement of students’ scores also could be seen by looking at the mean between pre-test- post-test. The mean score of pre-test score was 61 and the mean score of post-test was 82. By using SPSS calculation, the researcher found that the number of probability in this research was <0,05. It showed that there was significant differences of pre-test score and post-test score.
In conducting the research, the researcher knew that the students enthusiastic in the classroom activiy was increased. They were serious, more active, brave to answer, and they understand more about the material.
