Abstract
Authentic materials are materials that contain real life information. It can benefit to the English teaching and learning process. The objectives of the study are to describe the implementation of authentic materials in teaching English and to find out what factors the influence of authentic materials in teaching English. The result shows that authentic material is implemented to teach three skills: listening speaking, reading and speaking. The materials are taken from YouTube. The methods of data collection are use observation, interview and documentation. In addition, research design is used qualitative case study. The research focused on describing the implementation of authentic materials in teaching English and the factors that support the implementation of authentic materials are: Students’ respond toward the implementation of authentic materials, the school and media to support the teacher in implement authentic materials and the access to get authentic materials in teaching English. It is suggested authentic materials can be a suitable materials in teaching English to make the students to be more active in learning activity. The students are able to know the way native’s speaker in using English. Based from the material of authentic materials it can be make students are not lazy and be afraid in learning English.
