Abstract
The objective of this research was to examine the effectiveness of transition action details method to improve students’ writing skill in recount text at tenth grade students of MA Matholi’ul Huda Bugel in the academic year of 2018/2019. This research was true experimental design used Pretest-Posttest control group design involving two groups of classes. One group was treated as the experimental class and other group was treated as controlled class. In the experimental class, the writer applied Transition Action Details method (TAD) and in controlled class, the researcher applied conventional teaching method using communicative method. The population of this research was the tenth grade students of MA Matholi’ul Huda Bugel which consisted of 256 students. The samples of the research consisted of 79 students which were taken by using simple random sampling, X Agama 3 consisted of 40 students as experimental class and X Agama 4 consisted of 39 students as controlled class. There were two variables in this research: Transition Action Details (TAD) as the independent variable and students’ writing skill in recount text as the dependent variable. The instrument of this research was writing test. In writing test, to collecting the data the writer uses test which include pre-test and post-test. Then the result of the test will be analysed by using SPSS. In experimental class, the mean score of pre-test (42,25) and the post-test (77,2) was greater than the mean score in controlled class (71,58) in post-test and the pre-test (43,33) From the t-test, the researcher found that the value of the t-test in the post test was greater than the t-table (2.342 > 2.000). It can be concluded that t0 was higher than t-table in the post-test of experimental and control class. It meant that the Null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. The alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. Based on the explanation above, it can be concluded that there was a significant difference of the result of teaching writing recount text between the experimental and control class. It meant that by using transition action details method can improve students’ writing skill in recount text for the tenth grade students of MA Matholi’ul Huda Bugel. The writer concluded that the use of Transition Action Details method was effective to improve the students’ writing skill in recount text at tenth grade students of MA Matholi’ul Huda Bugel.
