Abstract

This thesis is entitled The Use of Animation Video to Improve Students’ Interest in Learning English at the Ninth Grade of Lembah Asri Course Sukodono in the Academic Year of 2018/2019. The purpose of this research was to get data about the students’ interest in learning English by using animation video. This research was held in February 2019 at Lembah Asri Course Sukodono Jepara. It took the class every afternoon as the schedule of the course. It presented six meetings to conduct the research. The object of this research was the students of ninth grades from the state school in Jepara. It was the level of junior high school. The method of this research was qualitative classroom action research. There was only one class as the subject of this research. It consisted of twenty students as the object. There are four indicators of interests as stated attention, concentration, pleasant feeling, and willingness. The data was taken using questionnaire and observation. It was given in the first and the last meeting. The data of questionnaire showed in the form of percentage. The result of questionnaire between given at first and in the last was significance increase. It helps to know that animation video can increase students’ interest. It was showed in the fourth chapter of the result. The data of observation showed in the form of checklist. It was conducted in every meeting of this research. It helps to know every single activity of the students in order to know the increase of interest. The result of observation was increasing. It showed in the fourth chapter of the result. It can be concluded that animation video could improve the students’ interest in learning English at the Ninth Grade of Lembah Asri Course Sukodono in the Academic Year of 2018/2019.
