Abstract

The objectives of this research were to know how the process of teaching writing skill through google classroom at the tenth grade students of SMAN 01 Tahunan and to know the problem that the teachers faced in teaching writing skill through google classroom. This research was guided by a qualitative research design as this study attempted to describe the process of teaching and the problem of using google classroom. In this research, the researcher used the descriptive method in which it focused on describing the process of teaching writing skill through google classroom, and the problem that the teachers faced in using google classroom at tenth grades of SMA N 01 Tahunan. The study was designed in form of qualitative descriptive study. The data were collected by interviewing with the teachers, and giving questionnaire to the students. The data analysis indicated: (1) the process of teaching writing skill through google classroom, (2) problem that the teachers faced in teaching writing skill through google classroom. The result showed that teachers used google classroom to teach writing skill. The process of teaching was uploading the lesson material in google classroom then the students could have discussion on the class through this media. In this occasion, the students could discuss the material which the students couldn’t understand yet. While the students had discussion the teacher gave a feedback to the students. Not only had a discussion but also the teachers upload the assignment then the teachers assessed the students writing skill by uploading the result of assignment. The second result showed that the teachers got problem in using google classroom. The problem was a bed signal, it happened when the teacher uploaded the material on google classroom. It happened not only from the teachers but also from the students. In addition, the google classroom couldn’t support cooperative learning by working in groups. So that the teachers could only give individual assignment.
