Abstract
This research was motivated by students who were less responsive when the teacher asked questions. They have difficulty answering questions. They are also less interested in English lessons because students pay less attention when the teacher teaches.
This study aims to examine the effect of Little Stories media on vocabulary mastery (vocabulary) of class VIII MTs N 1 Jepara students in the 2020/2021 school year. This research uses experimental research. The population of this study were students of class VIII MTs N 1 Jepara, totaling +330 students. With a sample of 58 students taken using simple random sampling technique.
Data was collected by giving multiple choice tests. Calculations were performed using SPSS version 21.0. Based on data analysis, the results showed that Ha (alternative hypothesis) was accepted and H0 (null hypothesis) was rejected. This can be seen from the average score on the initial and final tests. The average pre-test score for the experimental class was 50.44 while the control class was 50.64, while the average post-test score for the experimental class was 78.7, while the control class was 71.9. Then, the results of the independent sample t-test of the experimental class at the end of the test results showed the value of ttest> ttable (3.435> 2.004). So the conclusion is that Little Stories media improves students' Vocabulary Mastery. The examiner recommends using the Little Stories media application in the teaching and learning process.
