Abstract

This research is about the use of blended learning trough Google Classroom application to improve the students’ reading comprehension in narrative text at the eleventh grade of MA Darul Ulum Purwogondo in the academic year 2020/2021. The aims of this research is to find out how effective of using blended learning trough Google Classroom application to improve the students’ reading comprehension in Narrative Text at the eleventh grade students of MA Darul Ulum Purwogondo. This research is pre experimental design exactly one group pretest-posttest design. The population of this research are the eleventh grade students of MA Darul Ulum Purwogondo which consists of 129 students. The sample of the research is XI MIPA that consists of 36 students. The sample is taken by using simple random sampling technique. There are two variables in this research, they are blended learning trough Google Classroom application as the independent variable and students’ reading comprehension as the dependent variable. The instrument of this research is reading test. In reading test, the result of the data indicates that there is a significant difference. The total mean score of post-test is higher than the total mean score in pre-test (81.91> 60.03). From the paired sample t-test, the result shows that the value from t-test is greater than the t-table (8.189 > 1.690). Based on the findings and the discussion of the research, the researcher gets a conclusion that the use of blended learning through Google Classroom application is effective to improve the students’ reading comprehension at the eleventh grade students of MA Darul Ulum Purwogondo.
