The thesis was entitled The Violation of Maxim Found in the Interview with Donald Trump in FOX News TV by YouTube that theme was upgraded the government in USA held in the White House on 27th February 2017 between Donald Trump with Fox and friends. The purpose of the research was to find out the violation maxim and identify the violation maxim most frequently used by Donald Trump in the interview. Research approach in this thesis is qualitative research approach and just focus on Donald Trump. The researcher used documentation as method of data collection by gathering the video and transcript. The method of data analysis is Discourse analysis that divided into three steps are data reduction, data display, and conclusion or verification. Based on the data analysis, the researcher found the entire violation maxims that are violation of maxim quantity has 17 times (45%), violation of maxim quality has 2 times (5%), violation of maxim relevance has 4 times (11%), and violation of maxim manner has 15 times (39%). The highest violation of maxim that used by Donald Trump is quantity. The reason why Donald Trump often violate maxim are he wants to give more information, felt forced, and kept his privacy with give less or more and ambiguous information.
