Abstract
The aim of this thesis, entitled “The Effectiveness of Flash-Cards in Audio-Lingual Method in Teaching Vocabulary at Third Grade Students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Sultan Fattah Sukosono Kedung Jepara” is to find the effectiveness of Flash-card technique in an Audio-lingual method on Students’ Vocabulary Mastery which was observed and analyzed from students of third grade at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Sultan Fattah Sukosono Kedung Jepara. The method applied in this research was a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design. The sample of this research was the students of the third grade that consist of 18 students. The researcher used pre-test and post-test as an instrument to analyze the data. The finding of this research shows that teaching vocabulary by using flash-card in an audio-lingual method was effective. It is proved by to (test observation) which is higher than tt(test table). It means that H0 (Null Hypothesis) was rejected and Hα (Alternative Hypothesis) was accepted. It means that there was a significant difference in teaching vocabulary flash-card in an audio-lingual method. The result of the questionnaire analyses also showed that students were interested in the use of flash-cards in an audio-lingual method. It could be conclude that the use of flash-card in an audio-lingual method in teaching vocabulary give effect in improving toward the students’ vocabulary mastery.
