Abstract

This thesis is entitled The Effectiveness of Miming Game in Teaching Vocabulary (a Quasi Experimental Research at Seventh Grade Students of MTs Al Khidmah Pendosawalan Kalinyamatan Jepara in the Academic Year of 2018/2019). This research directs to find whether teaching vocabulary by using Miming Game is effective or not. The researcher used quasi experimental method during the research since the aim of this research is to find out the effectiveness of miming game in teaching vocabulary. Based on the analysis that has been done, the researcher found the significant difference between experimental class and control class. Both of two classes consists 24 students, totally 48 students. The data of the experimental class and control class were analyzed by using homogeneity test formula and t-test formula. The result of pre-test showed that mean of experimental class was 58.75 and control class 57.29. Then, the data analyzed again using homogeneity and t-test formula. The result of homogeneity is higher than 0.05 (0.437 > 0.05). The result of t-test is Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.727. It means there was no significant difference (Sig. (2-tailed) > 0.05). After doing pre-test, researcher gave treatment to experimental class using miming game. Afterwards, researcher conducted post-test to prove the hypothesis. The mean of experimental class is 66.25 and control class is 57.50 in post test. Homogeneity and t-test formula were applied to find out the significant difference. The result of homogeneity in post test was 0.427. The result of t-test is Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.013. It showed that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected since Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05 (0.013 < 0.05). The last word of this research is teaching vocabulary by using miming game at seventh grade students of MTs Al Khidmah Pendosawalan Kalinyamatan Jepara is effective.
